Form

Over the past few series, South Africa have been in good touch with the bat where senior players like Quinton de Kock, Rassie van der Dussen and Temba Bavuma impressing at the top.

De Kock, Van der Dussen and Bavuma were brilliant during the last series and a lot is expected from them against this Bangladesh side who have what it takes to cause an upset.

With the ball in hand, Kagiso Rabada will lead the pace attack and he will be supported by the likes of Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen and Wayne Parnell on favourable conditions.

On the slower side of things, Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi are the two spinners.

South Africa

The Proteas goes into this three match ODI series against Bangladesh brimming with confidence after they beat India earlier in the year.

Besides Sisanda Magala, who has failed fitness tests, and Anrich Nortje, who is recovering from injury, all the other players who played against India have been retained.

Other key players for players for SA with bat and ball are Marco Jansen, Janneman Malan, Aiden Markram, Andile Phehlukwayo, Dwaine Pretorius and Kyle Verreynne.

Bangladesh

On the other hand, Bangladesh are also in great form in white-ball cricket as they are go into this series on the back of a 2-1 series ODI series win over Afghanistan.

Shakib Al Hasan, who was earlier doubtful for the series, is part of the squad and he will carry a big responsibility on his shoulders ahead of a big series as a senior member of the bowling attack.

Other players to watch include the experienced trio of Liton Das, Tamim Iqbal and Mehidy Hasan.

Liton Das has been in the form of his life and he is consistently piling match-defining knocks with the bat and it remains to be seen if he will be able to replicate those performances on the seaming tracks of South Africa.

With the ball, fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman should be Bangladesh’s biggest bet on what is expected to be favourable conditions.

In his last seven ODIs, he has managed to pick 13 wickets and conditions in South Africa should suit his bowling as well.

Taskin Ahmed is bowling pretty well and the team would be banking on him as well to pick wickets.

Best Bets

The team winning the toss is likely to bowl first on the SuperSport Park ground which has produced high scoring ODIs in the past.
